Author of Intequinism — a philosophy placing Truth and Love, against idolatry/messianism, at the foundation of economics and society.
Marquard Dirk Pienaar is a South African, best known for developing Intequinism — an original philosophy that challenges the Labour Theory of Capital and proposes a new economic framework centred on the ideas of Truth and Love.
He coined the word intequity on 7 October 2009, describing the capital of ideas as distinct from, yet inseparable from, labour. Since then he has published multiple books and developed a body of practical work connecting philosophy with new-era economics, blockchain-based brand currencies, and a new kind of Internet community.
He is the founder and owner of Africahead, which operates as Moiom Close Corporation (Reg. no: 1999/054573/23), active in South Africa since 1999. Africahead combines business and political philosophy, seeking not maximum profit per individual but maximum capital value — built on brands, ideas, and community.
His academic work includes a paper published by Journal of Emerging Trends in Economics and Management Sciences, and a masters dissertation of philosophy at North-West University. He has built a body of applied work through Ipparts Exchange (IPPAEX), in development, and related ventures. Author pages: Amazon · Apple Books.
Intequinism is a philosophical and economic system that identifies Truth and Love as the two most foundational ideas for any sustainable, creative society. It rationalises the conclusion reached independently by Bertrand Russell — that Truth and Love are the most important ideas to respect — by grounding it in the concept of intequity (intellectual property parts as capital).
Where conventional economics follows the Labour Theory of Capital (rooted in Old Testament methodology), Intequinism proposes a new-capitalist framework in which ideas are formally recognised and rewarded alongside labour. Choosing idealism over materialism — Truth and Love over deceit and exploitation — is shown to produce more creative, equitable, and lasting economies.
The philosophy also diagnoses Caiaphas Syndrome: the utilitarian conviction that sacrificing the honest individual for the group's benefit is justified, which leads to corruption, stagnation of ideas, and eventual societal breakdown.
Intequinism is applied in practice through Ipparts Exchange (IPPAEX) and the Kaeuoi community social network.
